Welcome!

We’re a volunteer-run, community-focused club that values learning, skill-sharing, and getting outside. Whether you’re brand new to rockhounding or an experienced lapidary artisan, you’ll find a welcoming place here.

Our Club's Mission

To inspire curiosity about the earth by promoting rockhounding, lapidary arts, and the sharing of knowledge within a welcoming community.

Monthly Meetings

The hub community

We meet at 7:00 p.m. on the Fourth Wednesday of the month at The Hub gym. In our meeting we usually include some sort of program (silent auction, show and tell, etc.). This is when you can sign up to join one of our Fieldtrips!

Please note, there are no club meetings in July and August, when most members are on vacation.

In summer months club members often get together on a multi-day camping trip.

Lapidary Arts

Access to tools, rocks and best of all the knowledge and experience of 65 years of rockhounds, we have a substantial library, saw shop, lapidary studio space and members often teach workshops.

Community Outings

You’ll often find us at local fairs and markets with hands-on displays of Vancouver Island minerals, member-made pieces, and interactive activities like our popular “spin to win” and kids’ rock tables. It’s a chance to spark curiosity, swap stories, and welcome new faces into the hobby

Adventure Awaits

Becoming a member has a lot of perks, arguably the best one being getting together with like minded people in the great Cowichan Valley.
